Pastastic!
This weekend was Doug´s bday (Shawna´s papa), y lo festejamos haciendo pasta. Yup, we made pasta. The day started at Jean Talon Market in Little Italy. Quite impressive for a market that is usually outdoors, how it is able to cram everything in such a little space (un poco más chico que el mercado de mazatlan, pero mil veces más limpio y ordenado... ah, y sin cabezas colgando). La siguiente parada fue en una tienda de por ahi, donde encontramos la maquinita para hacer pasta, y ufff, esa tienda esta de muerte! Puras maquinas para hacer espresso, pasta y cualquier cosa que tenga que ver con comida italiana. Es más, hasta aparadores tipo supermercado vendian (los de la carnisalchichorenira). De ahi fuimos a la casa de mis suegros, donde pasamos la mayor parte del tiempo cocinando, o mejor dicho, ellos cocinaron (yo tuve un partido de futbol - 2-2 gracias por preguntar). De la pasta solo me toco enrollar los canelones, que fueron unos de queso y otros de carne, ambos deliciosos, abrir vinos y probar de todo.It was quite an evening. Not just for the delicious nourriture but also for the company. The Roses where there, the Hughes, the Pilates Fusion coop, and, well, me. For something that started pretty early (1030am) we ended up pretty late (1245am). The only thing we could´ve had was more space to keep eating, but hey, there´s always the reheating.
Saturday ends, and sunday was the chilly and nachos superbowl party. Go steelers!
